I have recently recorded a new version with engineer Justin Phelps - you will hear the new version on my album coming out January 2008. Stay tuned! What is this song about? Big and little changes in my life sometimes scare me and sometimes thrill me, and this song is about learning to roll with whatever comes my way.
A FAN OF TANGERINE is first full-length CD I ever recorded. All of the recording was done live at CRI in San Francisco. Justin Phelps recorded, mixed and engineered everything. This song, SHADOW, was co-written by Corey (aka: Corey). He had a wild night on a tour bus, and we managed to encapsulate it in this song. All the other songs on HEAVY & LIGHT were written by me and...me. So you see...Gold Box Kingdom, the "band" per se, is a duo...me and Corey Wentworth. When we were playing out live we would usually perform as just a duo, although sometimes drummer Wade Olsen would join us.

Everybody Gather 'Round - Song (mp3)
Once when I was performing this song live I hadn't tightened the microphone stand all the way...the mic kept sliding lower and lower, and I kept bending my knees more and more...until finally, thankfully, the song ended so I could spend some quality time with the mic stand.
